National Water Resources Management Study

The National Water Resources Management Study was executed in St.Vincent and the Grenadines with the aim of enhancing economic growth, social equity, and providing environmental sustainability.

The project ran over a three year period and was completed on December 17th, 2009 with resources from the STABEX 1995 Allocation, amounting to Euro 1.4 million.

During the project a complete assessment of the water resources in the country was conducted in order to develop appropriate policies and effective institutional framework for the optimal allocation and management of water resources.

Under the project policy recommendations on institutional reform and capacity building were formulated. The project also facilitated an economic assessment of the water sector including feasibility of a perennial supply to the larger Grenadine islands and tariff implementation study.
